Graphic designer resumes need to do two jobs: pass ATS screening (which is text-based) and impress a creative director reviewing it. This example shows how to balance both — structured enough to be parsed, specific enough to be interesting.

Your portfolio does more than your resume. Every hiring manager will click it. Make the URL short, memorable, and live — not a Google Drive link. List it directly in the contact line of the header so it's impossible to miss.
Designers often skip metrics because creative work feels hard to measure. But impact is measurable: downloads, social reach, engagement rates, rebrand outcomes, client retention. One number per project changes the entire impression of your experience.
Many design job postings require specific tools (Figma, Adobe CC, After Effects). Include them in a dedicated Tools or Software section. Don't bury them in experience bullets where they may not get parsed.

It depends on the role. For in-house creative at a corporate company, keep it clean and readable. For agency roles, moderate visual design is expected. Never let design get in the way of readability.
List it as a role: "Freelance Graphic Designer, [year]–present" with 2–3 bullet points describing the type of work and client results.
Yes — keep it in. Education signals commitment to the craft. But if your portfolio is strong, keep the education section short and put it after your experience.
